I. Job Summary

Administer nursing care to patients in a safe, efficient, compassionate, and courteous manner using proper nursing procedure. Performs chemotherapy and infusion administration, physician assistance, information gathering, sample collection, patient education, and patient follow-up. Promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and members of the care delivery team. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports Wayne Memorial Hospital's vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

II. Duties And Responsibilities

Employee will be required to be readily available to work during any weather related incidents or other natural disasters and/or any emergency situation that may arise.

III. Education And Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Current Georgia licensure with renewal as required by Georgia Law. Mental and Physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Attends continuing education programs in order to maintain licensure Administration Chemotherapy Certificate.

ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy

Provider Certificate Preferred.

IV. Qualifications

Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition: "The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations." Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering medications and treatment, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others. The successful candidate will be required to pass competencies for this position
